Wicked Woods of Raven's Roost is a little pet project of mine years in the making. The characters started first as expressions of my interest in volunteering at haunted houses. I made them little interactive blogs on Tumblr just for fun and they ended up developing into full fledged characters there. Wick and Patches were each others foils, both with a hobby of scaring others, one the sweetest ball of sunshine, the other the nastiest nightmare. Their dynamic has always been fun but I wanted to explore it more in depth without the outside influence of other people's characters. I had always wanted to put their story into writing, to develop and expand the little world I'd made for them. This is that story.

Ghost worked with a local haunted house for nearly 13 years. Starting as an actor, then moving up to help with set-building, then even set designing herself! The only thing that stopped them was the end of the haunt itself after 2019. Patches started out as their nasty little clown character they played in set. Wick followed later as they started writing them as a way to fill the hole that the haunt left in their heart.

This comic is a love letter to the haunt and the ghouls they spent those 13 wonderful years with. Keeping the dream alive.
